SIHH 2016 Day 3: STYLE Reports
STORYVivian Chen
Panerai’s innovative Lo Scienziato- Luminor 1950 Tourbillon GMT Titanio features a skeletonised movement, with a power reserve of 144 hours and limited to 150 pieces only. The case, crafted in titanium, is hollowed out internally to further reduce its weight. The movement itself, P.2005/T, is also skeletonised and features titanium bridges and plates, and weighs 35 per cent less than the previous P.2005/S movement.
A Lange & Sohne celebrates 200th anniversary with a strong collection including the all-new Datograph Perpetual Tourbillon, Richard Lange Jumping Seconds and white gold edition of Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar and Lange 1. Following last year’s update of its iconic Lange 1, the watch manufacturer adds Grand Lange 1 Moonphase Lumen to the family this year, which features a moon-phase indication disc laser-cut with a moon and 1,164 stars that shine when charged.
Montblanc continues to surprise this year with grand complications such as ExoTourbillon models and métiers d’art such as micro painting as it celebrates the 110th anniversary of the maison.
H Moser & Cie’s Swiss Alp, inspired by the design of iconic smart watches such as the Apple Watch, is an instant hit. The limited series of 50 pieces was said to have all been pre-ordered. The holy grail of the brand’s SIHH 2016 release, however, is the Perpetual Calendar Heritage inspired by a vintage pocket watch, limited to only 10 pieces and is priced at about 250,000 CHF.
