Horlogerie will be receiving the haute couture treatment with a display from Dior at Baselworld, in Switzerland from March 17-24. The star of the maison's collection is the Dior VIII Grand Bal Piece Unique Ondine No 10, a 36mm automatic watch in a white gold case with a bezel rimmed with diamonds and set with baguette-cut diamonds. The oscillating weight on the dial - set with diamonds, tsavorite garnets, sapphires and yellow sapphires - resembles melting metal, giving it a fluid look.
Also on display will be the beautiful La D de Dior Satine, which features a black mother-of-pearl dial set with four diamond markers. The mini version comes in pink or white. The watch's bracelet is made of Milanese mesh stainless steel, and makes a subtle reference to ribbons and satin.
