HAPPENINGS: Luxury Swiss watchmaker Audemars Piguet has long been an avid supporter of Art Basel Hong Kong. This year, the luxury brand updated its VIP lounge at art exhibition. Award-winning architect Sebastian Errazuriz's design for the new lounge was inspired by the crystallisation of snowflakes. Following Art Basel's vernissage night, the crowd joined Audemars Piguet at the after-party at Duddell's restaurant in Central. More than 500 guests turned out for the celebration, including actress Sandra Ng and celebrities Olivia Lee-Davies, Andre Fu and Gaile Lai.

OVERHEARD I love how Sandra Ng pulled off the lingerie-chic trend perfectly. The ensemble definitely works with an Audemars Piguet watch.

How do you like the Audemars Piguet lounge at Art Basel?

It's stunning. Audemars Piguet hosts a different theme every year. I think this year's set-up is a like an art piece.

Did you take a look at the three watchmaking stations inside the booth?

Yes. The craftsmen taught me the different steps in making a watch. It takes them up to eight months to finish a complicated piece.

What qualities do you think a modern woman should have?

It's best to be emotionally and financially independent. You can be devoted to a relationship, but you shouldn't lose yourself in it.

Do you have any tips for young women pursuing their life goals?

Keep learning and growing. As women get old, their looks are replaced by their wisdom.
