HAPPENINGS: French fashion house Carven opened its new boutique in Hong Kong's Landmark mall. Artistic directors Adrien Caillaudaud and Alexis Martial flew in from Paris especially for the event. It was the duo's first Asian appearance. Chinese actress Liu Shishi was the guest of honour at the store opening. The beauty was in Paris earlier for Carven's autumn-winter 2016 presentation.

The local fashion clan turned out en masse for the celebration. We spotted the city's well-heeled party-goers including Amanda Strang, Hilary Tsui, and Brandon and Jenny Chau, who later joined a private dinner at the artsy Bibo restaurant. A week after the opening, Liu tied the knot with Taiwanese actor Nicky Wu in Bali wearing a custom-made Carven wedding gown.
