HAPPENINGS: The crème de la crème of Hong Kong society gathered at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal to celebrate the 18th Audemars Piguet QEII Cup. The gala party attracted a guest list filled with VIPs of the horseracing world and celebrities including former Miss Connecticut Acacia Courtney and guest of honour, Karena Lam.

At this year's Cup, HK$20 million in prize money was at stake, a figure that's 400 times more than what was first offered back in 1975 when the race was created to commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's visit to Hong Kong.

Guests danced the night away to hit songs covered by Jennifer Parlor & Band, and toasted throughout the night to another year of horseracing success. A buffet of finger foods and free-flowing drinks were available.

What made you return to the spotlight after five years?

I had a really good role and script by Tom Lin from Taiwan, which was for Zinnia Flower, and it was a role I couldn't turn down.

Can you tell us why you will only do one film a year?

That's my rule. My daughters are three and five years old, and I still want to tend to them very much.

What was it like working with your husband in Heaven in the Dark?

It was awesome. Believe it or not, we never got into an argument while filming. Every day was like a honeymoon.

Have you bet on horses?

I just go by my favourite numbers, like number two or number seven.
