Swiss luxury watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre celebrates the 85th anniversary of its iconic Reverso timepiece with a star-studded gala during Shanghai International Film Festival over the last weekend in the heritage Wai Tan Yuan.
A constellation of celebrities, such as Chinese actress Zhao Wei, British actor Ian McKellen and Jennifer Tse from Hong Kong, showed up to support the event.
Working in collaboration with the prestigious film festival in Shanghai for the sixth consecutive year, Jaeger-LeCoultre initiated a charity programme dedicated to the restoration of classic Chinese films.
This year, the brand hosted a private screening of the lately restored John Woo classic - an action-packed melo-drama titled ‘A Better Tomorrow’ starring Ti Lung, Chow Yun-fat and Leslie Cheung. The brand also announced that ‘Out of the Window’ - a 1973 romantic drama - will be restored next year.
During the night’s charity auction, a unique Reverso One Duetto Moon engraved with Zhao Wei’s autograph was sold for 330,000 yuan (HK$390,210) to benefit the restoration of classic Chinese films.
