Beauty highlights of the fall/winter 2026 fashion weeks also included smoky kohl eyes at Dior and Prada’s ‘tired girl’ make-up sported by Bella Hadid and Liu Wen

It wasn’t only the fashion that caught the eye at the biggest fall/winter 2026 ready-to-wear shows in London, Milan and Paris. The hair and make-up, too, had plenty to offer beauty aficionados and style watchers, from chrome glitter accents to red-hot pouts and plenty more.

It looks like “tired girl” make-up (yes – that is, in fact, a thing) isn’t going away any time soon. The catwalk stars at Prada, including Bella Hadid and Liu Wen, wore deliberately smudged charcoal eyes, minimal blush and a slightly tired expression as they strutted down the Italian fashion house’s runway in Milan.

Unlike the “clean girl” aesthetic popularised by celebrity “It” girls such as Hailey Bieber, this low-maintenance trend actually encourages us to flaunt the so-called imperfections we’ve spent years trying to hide or fix.

It’s time to whip out your smudgy eyeliners and lip glosses, because the 2000s party girl make-up era is back. At Demna’s highly awaited Gucci runway debut, some of the models wore bold lip colours with varied interpretations of a smoky eye.

British fashion icon Kate Moss closed the show in a shimmering gown – complete with an encrusted logo thong – and a smoked-out winged eyeshadow look with plenty of extra layers of black kohl. You don’t get much more Y2K than that.
