Who was the best-dressed Asian celebrity at the Venice International Film Festival?

Donning stunning designer ensembles from Dior, Elie Saab, Hugo Boss and Etro, and breathtaking Boucheron jewellery, Asian film stars arrived on the red carpet in Venice, Italy, dressed to impress
Venice, one of the most famous holiday destinations in the world, is home to high-profile cultural events including the Venice Biennale’s two marquee events, the Italian International Architecture Exhibition and the International Art Exhibition. However it is the annual Venice International Film Festival – the oldest film festival in the world – where all the stars come to show off their most fabulous looks.
Organised by La Biennale di Venezia, the 76th Venice International Film Festival was held from August 28 to September 7, 2019 at Venice Lido. It once again attracted Hollywood A-listers and Asian celebrities, who travelled to the floating city for this fashion and cinematic extravaganza.
Check out these show-stopping styles that Asian stars brought to the red carpet.
Gong Li
Gong Li is undeniably the queen of Asian cinema and fashion. Outfitted in an Elie Saab couture gown from the designer’s latest fall/winter couture collection, she channelled imperial grace on the red carpet, reminiscent of the formidable Empress Phoenix she played in Zhang Yimou’s film Curse of the Golden Flower.
Accessorising the look with Boucheron’s Hopi, the Hummingbird pendant earrings, a Quatre Radiant Edition Ring and a Serpent Bohème ring, she ticked all the boxes of a fabulous red carpet look.
Mark Chao You-ting

Ahead of the Lan Xin Da Ju Yuan screening, Taiwanese actor Mark Chao walked the red carpet in a Hugo Boss burgundy tuxedo matched with evening shirt, bow-tie and black leather shoes from the pre-spring 2020 collection.
