Taylor Swift smashed Michael Jackson’s award record at the AMAs
Happenings: The 47th annual American Music Awards took place on November 24 in Los Angeles. Celebrating the greatest talents of the US music scene, the extravaganza – hosted by Ciara – saw music artists Carrie Underwood, Billie Eilish, Drake, Ariana Grande, Halsey, Post Malone and K-pop group BTS take home trophies.

Taylor Swift made history on the night after winning the favourite pop/rock album for “Lover”, totalling 24 AMA awards and breaking Michael Jackson’s record.

The red carpet dazzled with head-turning styles: from Billy Porter’s Thom Browne ensemble to Swift’s sexy Julien Macdonald and Shania Twain’s high-slit dress. Shawn Mendes wore Paul Smith while girlfriend Camila Cabello looked mesmerising in Oscar de La Renta.
The night was pumped up by energetic performances by Swift, Selena Gomez, Kesha and Toni Braxton.
