Baby Archie’s first birthday: 5 ways Harry and Meghan’s son has grown up as he turns the royal 1 in LA

It’s been a momentous year for the Sussexes, what with the birth of their first child and the stresses of stepping back from their royal duties and moving to a new country – but young Archie is taking it in his baby stride
Prince Harry and his wife Meghan gave up their royal titles for a more private lifestyle, stepping back from their royal duties and moving to Los Angeles to escape the notorious British tabloids.
Harry has openly declared his dislike for the British paparazzi, explaining that he doesn’t want his son Archie to have the same childhood as he did. This would explain why the last time we saw a snap of Archie was on December 31.
A lot can happen in a growing baby’s life over four months. And despite the couple’s best efforts to shield Archie from the world, there have been moments both parents have given us titbits on their number one guy, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
Lockdown life = bonding time
Like millions around the world, Harry and Meghan have been social distancing because of the coronavirus pandemic. All the time together has allowed Harry to bond with his son. In a video call for his charity, WellChild, Harry said that there are moments “where you are just on the floor rolling around in hysterics”.
Archie is teething
A close friend of the Sussexes said that Archie has started teething and is a “happy baby”. The friend revealed the family are adjusting to social distancing in their new LA home and are focused on being in a safe environment.
