1. Phum Viphurit grew up in New Zealand
Born in Bangkok, Viphurit “Phum” Siritip is the youngest son of his Thai parents. The music-loving family migrated to Hamilton, New Zealand, when Phum was nine years old. Phum discovered his passion for music in the peaceful environment they lived in. It was in this small town that he learned how to play musical instruments and speak English.
2. He returned to Thailand to study film
When Phum turned 18 he moved back to Thailand to study at film school. The young artist eventually went on to university and directed the music video for one of his songs, Long Gone. So far the video has logged 13 million views on YouTube.
3. Phum Viphurit has gone on tour to different countries
The Hello, Anxiety singer-songwriter’s following outside Thailand eventually grew larger and he started getting invites to music festivals. Phum’s first shows in Hong Kong and South Korea were both sold-out. He has performed in other countries such as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, the US and Canada. He has also visited European countries such as Poland, Germany, England, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
