Kim Soo-hyun has been collecting hearts since long before It’s Okay to Not Be Okay dropped on Netflix, while Hyun Bin has been inundated since Crash Landing on You and Song Joong-ki and Lee Min-ho are never far from the headlines. But when it comes down to it, who is actually the top biller though?

From veteran actors to new hallyu heartthrobs, we list Korea’s highest-paid TV actors based on estimated earnings, the dramas that made them popular and their significant acting awards.

10. Ji Chang-wook – US$50,000 per episode

Ji is best known for his roles in Empress Ki, Healer and The K2. His ongoing drama Backstreet Rookie has recently been criticised for its sexually explicit scenes.

The actor also has a Chinese TV drama in the works.

9. Lee Jong-suk – US$50,000 per episode

The owner of 89 Mansion Café and model-actor Lee first gained recognition in School 2013, and eventually starred in hit dramas I Can Hear Your Voice, Pinocchio, W, and While You Were Sleeping.

He is currently enlisted for mandatory military service as a public service officer.
