Now star of Knives Out and Love, Simon, an unknown Langford was so impressive in her Skype audition for the role of Hannah Baker in 13 Reasons Why the casting director told her to jump on a plane from her home in Perth, Australia

If you still haven’t seen Netflix's original series Cursed, then you should probably set aside a weekend to binge it. It’s not exactly Game of Thrones, but your medieval fix of magic, knights in shining armours, pirates, mythical creatures and everything in between will surely be satisfied. This is a story we have all come to love, the story of King Arthur, only told from the perspective of the Lady of the Lake, Nimue.

Who better to play Nimue, who also happens to be of fey heritage, than Katherine Langford? Most of you know her as Hannah Baker in the controversial Netflix series, 13 Reasons Why.

That breakout role seems made for her – the casting director didn’t even have to meet her in person, recruiting Langford after only Skype auditions. And because of this, she had 10 days to file her O-1 visa for entry to the US.

That’s because she is from Perth, Australia. Yes, you read that right. Katherine Langford is Australian and her American accent is just for show.

For this role, she was nominated in 2017 for a Golden Globes in the category of best performance by an actress in a television drama. Even Selena Gomez couldn’t help but say praises.

While it’s true that playing Hannah Baker opened up the road to stardom for her, she has otherworldly talents such as singing, playing the piano and composing. In fact, she sang a song that is on the Cursed official soundtrack.

Because music flows in her veins – long before finding screen fame, Langford was writing her music, with three original songs still live for anyone to view on YouTube, posed on her personal account in April 2013. She entitled the songs, 3 Words, Young & Stupid, and I’ve Got a Crush on Zoe Bosch.
