Is Donald Trump just like any other father? Quotes from the US president about his youngest son Barron

He may be famous for his bombastic public persona, but how is Donald Trump guiding his teenage son as he grows up in the White House? Here’s what we know based on what he’s said
He thinks Barron’s growing up fast – and tall
In May during a ceremony for hard work and heroism, Trump mentioned his son when he spoke with a man who is a towering two metres (six foot eight inches).
“That’s a good height,” he told real estate agent Rafael Melo. “I have a son that looks like he’s going to be right around that number: Barron.”

Sometimes he’s the bad guy
During a press briefing in April, Trump opened up more about how his youngest son was dealing with life sheltering in place, not going to school and being unable to play sports amid the coronavirus pandemic. While other teens probably have free reign of the house, in the action-packed White House, Barron has been stuck in his room when he’d much rather be out with other kids. “He’s like everyone else,” Trump continued. “He’s in his room … he’s not as happy as you could be. He’d like to be playing sports.”
He gets the embarrassing dad thing
Teens can be easily embarrassed by their parents and when you’re dad is the president more is at stake. Following his impeachment trial in February, Trump gave a special shout-out to Barron. “I want to apologise to my family,” Trump said. “Ivanka is here … my sons and my whole family, and that includes Barron … who is up there as a young boy.”
