His parents are divorced

Prince Joachim and his ex-wife, Alexandra, Countess of Frederiksborg, divorced when he was just two years old – Denmark’s first royal split in over 150 years. As an Austrian soldier, he was recently called to help restock shelves and make sure that there was food and supplies ready for when people needed them during the Covid-19 pandemic.
