After being flown back to Vietnam on a US$360,000 private chartered flight sponsored by her father – billionaire Johnathan Hanh Nguyen, chairman of Imex Pan Pacific Group (IPPG) – heiresses Tien Nguyen spent most of her time in isolation, recovering from Covid-19.
But since her rather lavish take on social distancing, Tien has been dedicating her time to various charity activities, including her role as director of the Fund for Community by IPPG, the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.

Tien spent her isolation in the lap of luxury at her family’s villa, an exclusive beachfront property a few minutes from the ocean and in a prosperous neighbourhood in Vũng Tàu, the largest city in Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu province.

Post-recovery, Tien expressed her appreciation towards her family and Vietnam in heartfelt words, stating that she would be forever in debt to her parents, who gave her life and love, and to the country that took care of her during this difficult time in her life.

To show her gratitude, Tien officially took over the leading position at IPPG’s Fund for Community and joined numerous charitable events to support the underprivileged in Vietnam and abroad.

One of her first overseas trips was in April with her father and her brother, Henry Nguyen, to donate 750,000 face masks and other protective medical equipment to the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines. It made headlines for weeks in the Philippines.

In the past few months, Tien has remained active in her efforts to provide assistance to the disadvantaged in Vietnam. For instance, she contributed US$25,000 from the fund to help children from poor families continue their education.

This is not the first time Tien has held an official position in her father’s giant empire. She also serves as IPPG’s deputy business development manager of the high-end fashion market, and travels around the world to attend exclusive fashion events and to work with top luxury brands to bring their products to Vietnam.
