She is a diamond heiress
Mehta was already well-known among India’s glitterati. Born to diamantaires Russell and Mona Mehta, her parents own one of the world’s largest jewellery companies, Rosy Blue. The Indian-Belgian company trades in rough and polished diamonds with offices in 12 countries, including Belgium, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, USA and China. It’s reported that her own family has a net worth of US$300 million.

She is a philanthropist at heart
While studying at the Mumbai family school, Mehta spent time doing community service as part of the curriculum, an experience she credits with igniting her future passion for social services, honed further by earning a bachelor’s degree in anthropology in the US from Princeton University and a master’s from the London School of Economics (LSE). After completing her studies, young Shloka returned to India and helmed the philanthropic arm of the family business.

Her sartorial game is strong
From gorgeous Sabyasachi pink lehenga, to ivory chikankari by the Ambani family’s go-to designers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, Mehta’s style is as classy as you might expect. The 30-year-old not only flaunts elegant Indian outfits, she also serves unexpected ensembles, like the gorgeous black Elie Saab jumpsuit she paired with a Judith Leiber boom box clutch for a benefit event last December.
