Although she’s rarely seen with famous faces in a non-political capacity nowadays, Ivanka Trump and her celeb pals go way back. Here are five of her A-list friends you may be surprised by.

Hugh Jackman

Ivanka attended the Logan star’s 50th birthday in 2018 – despite him showing support for Donald Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton by performing at her 2016 election campaign fundraiser.

Jackman and Ivanka’s friendship goes back years, though, with the actor walking the red carpet for her jewellery line’s launch as far back as 2011. They first met through Wendi Deng 17 years ago.

The investor, art collector, entrepreneur and former wife of media magnate Rupert Murdoch set Ivanka and Jared Kushner up on their first date in 2009. In 2016, Ivanka praised her as “a remarkable woman” who is “one of those friends that inspires you to work hard, be better and laugh louder.”

Deng has said in interviews that the pair have been friends for “many years”. And while many of Ivanka’s friends distanced themselves from her in the lead-up to Trump’s election, Deng did the opposite, even attending Trump’s presidential inauguration. They have also previously holidayed together in Croatia.
