Jennie was ranked the third most popular K-pop idol used as a reference by South Korean plastic surgery clients, but YG Entertainment artists are reportedly barred from the practice themselves

Our most-beloved K-pop girl group in 2020 was without question Blackpink, who rocked the world with debut LP “The Album”, Selena Gomez collaboration Ice Cream and hit Netflix documentary Light Up The Sky . The group is also well-known for their eye-catching senses of style, with members getting tapped to be the faces of luxury brands and regularly serving sizzling looks on their own Instagram feeds.
So it’s no wonder that fans aren’t only enthusiastically covering the group’s dances, they seek to emulate the members’ outfits and make-up, too. But fan imitation doesn’t stop there: in 2019, Jennie was ranked as the third-most-popular idol in South Korea who plastic surgery clients request as a model.

Of course, plenty of fans are fascinated by what members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa looked like before they debuted, too – and wonder if they might have gone under the knife themselves on their path to fame, even though YG Entertainment apparently doesn’t allow its artists to get plastic surgery.

Here’s what Blackpink was like before their glow-ups.

Wanting to learn more about their idol, Rosé’s fans dug up some photos from her high school years in Melbourne. (She was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia.) Even though she barely wore any make-up – or perhaps none at all – she was clearly as pretty then as she is now.

One of her school photos went viral online with the caption “Rosé before getting eyelid surgery”. However, the resolution of the photo was too low for fans to determine whether she naturally possessed the much-coveted double-eyelids before she was famous, so the rumour remains just a rumour. However, it was obvious that she levelled up in the make-up department.
