As one of the wealthiest celebrities and businesswomen in the world, she can basically afford anything that she sets her eyes on. She’s splurged on the usual designer clothes and private properties, of course, but here are a few other items she’s invested in that might surprise you.

She bought Jackie Kennedy’s watch

In 2017, Kim K anonymously bought a gold Cartier Tank watch at a Christie’s auction that was once worn by first lady Jackie Kennedy. The auction house posted the expected sell price online as US$60,000 to US$120,000 but Kardashian reportedly paid almost triple for it – around US$379,500. The reality star wore the vintage Cartier timepiece when she visited former US President Donald Trump as part of her campaign for criminal justice reform. She told Vogue that wearing it gave her “some power”.

The business mogul extended her hand to a former prisoner back in 2019, privately offering to shoulder Matthew Charles’ first five years of rent after learning that he was struggling to secure a house due to his criminal record. Charles was the first person to be released from jail as a result of the new prison reform act in the US that Kardashian lobbied for.

She bought six of the world’s most expensive beds

When Kimye were still renovating their Los Angeles mansion back in 2013, they apparently decided to splash out on not one, but six limited-edition Savoir Royal State beds. The beds, which would have cost more than US$1 million in total, were among only 60 created to commemorate the 60th year of Queen Elizabeth’s reign. They are primarily made from cashmere, horse tail and 1,600 miles of woven silk thread.

Special-edition beds are not the only luxury items that Kardashian has bought for her home. She took her bathrooms to the next level too, reportedly splashing US$750,000 on four gold-plated toilets. For her kitchen, meanwhile, she bought a Swarovski crystal-encrusted fridge that (naturally) didn’t come cheap either. The Bel-Air mansion has since been sold, so it remains a mystery whether the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star took the toilet seats with her.

Kardashian obviously believes that diamonds are a girl’s best friend – so much so that she even got some for her teeth! In 2019, the reality star debuted her “new grillz” when she posted a photo of her gnashers covered in tiny diamonds and her upper teeth sporting a bedazzled cross. The accessories were custom crafted by Parisian jewellery designer Dolly Cohen.
