Bling Empire introduced us to Los Angeles’ Anna Shay, Kane Lim, Christine Chiu and more – but who would star in a Big Apple version of the TV show?

From billionaire Rupert Murdoch’s ex-wife Wendi Deng Murdoch to Instagram-famous Ezra J. William, here’s who we’d watch in Bling Empire: NYC

Since Bling Empire dropped in January, it has become the reality show to binge – in large part due to the charismatic cast that we just can’t take our eyes off of. Whether Anna Shay and Christine Chiu’s rivalry over who has the most expensive jewellery collection or Kelly Mi Li and Andrew Gray’s fiery – sometimes volatile – relationship, the Netflix series gave us more than enough drama to get us through the post-holiday blues.

But there’s one question we can’t stop asking ourselves: how long before the show producers launch a New York City series? And, if they do, which prominent crazy rich Asians in the Big Apple would feature in the Bling Empire: NYC spin-off?

We came up with this east coast dream cast, including an Indonesian “It” boy who flaunts his wealth all over social media to a billionaire heiress immortalised at the Met.

The Chinese-born ex-wife of billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch is a natural at stirring up drama. She’s rumoured to have had romantic entanglements with both Russian president Vladimir Putin and former British prime minister Tony Blair, and dated Hungarian model Bertold Zahoran, who is 27 years her junior. But then again, with the kind of cash Murdoch has lying around, the 52-year-old can probably date whoever she wants. She walked away from her high-profile divorce with a Fifth Avenue flat worth US$44 million, plus a US$30 million yacht, making her a fabulously and independently wealthy woman worth watching.

Young, rich and not ashamed to flaunt it, Insta-famous Ezra J. William is almost definitely the next Kane Lim. The son of an Indonesian real estate tycoon, William spent time in Jakarta, Singapore, Los Angeles and Hong Kong growing up, before settling in New York. The ostentatious 31-year-old shopping addict is friends with some of NYC’s most notorious rich kids, including Paris and Nicky Hilton, EJ Johnson and Tiffany Trump, and starred in the reality TV series Rich Kids of Instagram back in 2016.
