Last month, the musician Choi Seung-hyun born decided to show fans where he buys his bread on Instagram. According to K-pop news website Koreaboo, the rapper ordered US$30 worth of bread and a bingsu shaved ice dessert from old-school bakery Taegeuk Dang, which has been running since 1946.

But fans paid attention to more than just what T. O. P likes to eat – they also noticed that he paid with a Hyundai Black Card. The credit card, which is also used by BTS’ Jin and Jungkook, is only issued to the 0.05 per cent of Koreans. It requires its owners to spend at least US$8,350 each month and to have at least US$8.3 million in assets.

That shouldn’t be a stretch: Koreaboo lists T.O.P’s net worth at US$23 million. So what else does the 33-year-old billionaire spend it on – other than bread?

Along with BTS’ RM, T.O.P is another art enthusiast and an avid collector. His influence in the art world is so extensive that Sotheby’s Hong Kong even tapped him to guest curate a special art sale in 2016.

During an appearance on MBC’s Radio Star, he revealed that he spends at least 95 per cent of his income on buying art works. His collection includes works by Andy Warhol and the late Korean painter Kim Whan-ki.
