Beatrice Borromeo, princess and hard-hitting journalist: meet the Italian aristocrat and Dior ambassador who married into the Monaco royal family

- Beatrice Borromeo became a Monégasque royal when she married Pierre Casiraghi, the son of Princess Caroline of Hanover and the grandson of Grace Kelly
- She wore Valentino and Armani Privé haute couture for her wedding and is a regular at fashion shows – when she’s not running her company Astrea Films
Being the wife of a Monégasque royal and the daughter of a count and countess, however, is just a minuscule part of Borromeo’s identity. Here are five things that make her a cut above the rest.
She is a political journalist

Borromeo is well known in her home country as a hard-hitting reporter and documentary filmmaker. The 35-year-old royal has written for newspapers and hosted news television and radio shows. Unafraid to tell truthful stories, she has interviewed Italian politicians and exposed corruption and other forms of injustices.
She has a law degree

Before receiving her master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University in the US, Borromeo graduated with a bachelor’s degree in law from Bocconi University in Milan. She was attending the prestigious school when she first crossed paths with her future husband, who was studying international economics and management there at the time.
