MMA legend Ronda Rousey has just announced she is expecting her first child with husband Travis Browne. The WWE star posted a video on YouTube confirming she is four months pregnant. “I’ve been pregnant since January. I can’t hide it anymore. It’s time to show it off,” she said as she sat beside Browne.

This is “Rowdy” Ronda we’re talking about, so her first few months of pregnancy have been anything but ordinary. Rousey is living the simple life on a one-hectare (2.5-acre) farm in California and has been spending her time feeding chickens, eating carbs and making money.

Here’s a look at her pregnancy journey so far.

Farm life is the best life

She used to covet the world’s attention with her powerful armbars and outspoken attitude, but these days Rousey’s focus has shifted elsewhere – namely toward looking for new ways to live sustainably on her ranch, Browsey Acres.

Rousey said she’s been pregnant since January, and during that same month, she proudly showed off to her Instagram followers how she had conditioned her chickens to expect food when she starts hitting a bucket.

Crushing on her man

On Valentine’s Day, Rousey gave fans a glimpse of her tender side, posting a touching message to her man. In a tribute post on Instagram, she said that before she met Browne, she thought he was just a “fantasy”. The ex-MMA fighter said she feels like she’s living a dream with him and called him her best friend.

Cravings? Why, yes!

In February, Rousey hinted at having cravings after she thanked her husband for some treats. As an athlete, she usually has to be conscious of what she’s eating, but clearly this day was an exception. She delightedly feasted on French toast, whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Oh, and more loaves of flavoured hot bread too.

Just because she has a bun in the oven doesn’t mean Rousey has let her work slide. Besides tending to the farm animals, she’s still been busily promoting her apparel line with Mizuno. Posting pictures of herself clearly on top form, she explained why she chose the style items and why they works for her body.

The “baddest baby” is en route

Back in 2019 Rousey said she was pausing her career because she wanted to start a family. She told People magazine she wanted to be a mother and although she didn’t know if that meant she’d return to the ring, it was something she was willing to take a risk on. In her baby announcement, Rousey said there was more to her pregnancy journey and would share the whole story with fans later. She also confirmed that she knew the gender, but would wait to reveal that at a later stage too. Watch this space!
