K-pop fashion crushes: BTS as Louis Vuitton’s new brand ambassadors, Blackpink’s Jisoo rocks to-die-for Dior, and IU and Bae Suzy go gaga for the latest bags

What to wear this season? We confess, we can’t help but turn once more to the hottest Korean celebrities and their arsenal of high-fashion pieces for inspiration – especially since they all seem to be killing it right now. From BTS’ tailored Louis Vuitton suits, to the Dior bar jackets Jisoo and Jessica Jung have been seen sporting.
So without further ado, here’s the latest fashion news from South Korea’s style circle, and the key looks you do not want to miss.
BTS were announced as ambassadors for Louis Vuitton
The members of boy band BTS are officially the newest house ambassadors for French luxury brand Louis Vuitton, with a campaign showing the group dressed in a youthful pastel colour palette doing the rounds to celebrate the launch.
Its seven members Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jungkook have repeatedly worn Louis Vuitton outfits on stage in recent years, including at this year’s Grammy Awards for their first ever nomination at the event. The group’s brown and black Grammy look was designed by Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director Virgil Abloh.
Jun Ji-hyun is spotted with the latest Alexander McQueen “It” bag
Korean actress Jun Ji-hyun recently caught the internet’s attention with her Curve bag by Alexander McQueen. The covetable accessory is made of calf leather, and its harness design is as straightforward as it is playful, sleek and chic. It’s available in just one size but 13 colours, and retails for US$1,490, according to the brand’s website. Global ambassador Jun carries the yellow bag, a muted hue that makes a strong statement in the kind of effortless way only an “It” girl like her can.

South Korea’s sweetheart Bae Suzy covered up and layered print-on-print, toting a leopard-look Dior saddle bag from the pre-autumn 2021 collection. While Mamamoo star Hwasa’s recent handbag of choice was a neutral grey Versace La Medusa number, a perfect match to her muted grey outfit. IU showed that she’s just as happy touting the classics as anything new or edgy, and was spotted with a beige and brown Gucci horsebit 1955 mini bag.

When it comes to a choosing a well-tailored jacket that’s versatile and will last through trends and seasons, the Dior Bar Jacket is the one we have our eyes on right now, especially after spotting fun, feminine and playful renditions on Jisoo and Jessica Jung. Their clever day-to-night outfits teamed the jacket with jeans for daytime and a black tulle skirt for the evening.
