Nearly everyone has a dream car in the back of their mind. Perhaps not even a specific brand or model, but a colour, style, shape or vibe. The only difference between celebrities and the rest of us is that A-listers get to collect their dream cars. So which K-pop stars have the most envy-worthy car collections? STYLE thumbed up to present this list of the biggest report idol splurges. Here’s what we know.

G-Dragon has three limited edition supercars

Just as we guessed, ostentatious, larger-than-life rapper G-Dragon apparently has more prized cars than any other K-pop star. When it was reported that G-Dragon was the Korean idol with the most expensive cars last year by Mnet’s TMI News, host Jun Hyun-moo couldn’t fake his lack of surprise, quipping: “G-Dragon makes 1.4 billion won (US$1.3 million) every year just from his songs’ copyright alone. He wears clothes that you can’t even put a price tag on, and he even moved to a penthouse worth 9 billion won (US$8 million).”

His collection is known to include three prized limited edition motors: a Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Aventador and a Rolls-Royce Phantom. According to Koreaboo, the Bentley is valued at around US$350,000 even without adding any options, while the personally tuned-up Lamborghini is worth US$500,000. But that’s not GD’s most expensive motor. The Rolls-Royce – a “ghost car” said not to make any audible engine sound – is worth a jaw-dropping US$650,000.

Now, it’s well known G-Dragon and widely rumoured partner Jennie from Blackpink like to mimic each others’ fashion choices – can we expect to see them behind the wheel of matching motors soon too?

Exo’s Chanyeol has a meaty Mercedes-Benz SUV

Chanyeol, who is currently serving military duty with his Exo bandmates Suho and Baekhyun, ranks just behind G-Dragon in the show-off car game. Chanyeol is known to be a warm-hearted person who loves to give gifts out to his loved ones – such as Prada bags, Apple AirPods Pro – and once even gifted his sister a luxury Mercedes-Benz.

Clearly, he knew what he was buying, as Chanyeol himself owns an SUV from the same brand. According to Allkpop, Chanyeol rides in a 2016 Mercedes-Benz AMG G65, which costs around US$330,ooo and is popular for its speed, high tech and height, allowing it to safely handle flooding.

Kim Dong-wan has one of 30 limited sports cars in Korea

One of the main vocalists of the first-generation K-pop band Shinhwa, Kim Dong-wan has both a Porsche and a Mercedes-Benz parked in his garage. During his appearance on MBC’s I Live Alone in 2015, he took a drive in a Porsche 911 Carrera 4s, which is known to be worth around US$130,000.

That’s not all – he was also known to own a US$250,000 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Even without considering the price, this model is more than prestigious, as there are only 30 such cars available in South Korea. It’s popular for its winged appearance and top speed of 300km/h (186mph).

Jay Park has a prized Bentley

Dubbed K-pop’s “hustle king” by Spotify, rapper turned CEO Jay Park can be ranked right below Kim Dong-wan with his Bentley Flying Spur, which has an estimated price of US$200,000 – or up to a total of US$250,000 by adding the model’s full options. The car has been featured in his MVs a number of times, such as when he drove around with rapper Gray to promote their song Drive.

The prestigious model is renowned for its ornate detail across every carefully crafted surface, both in and out, with detailed interior stitching and leather furnishings “sustainably sourced” from northern European bulls.

It might be a rare beauty, but Jay isn’t the only Korean celeb with one in the garage, with K-drama queen Jun Ji-hyun and professional baseball player Choo Shin-soo both believed to own the same model.

Jessica Jung owns a Maserati Quattroporte supercar

And it’s not just boys with their (very expensive) toys: former SNSD member Jessica Jung ranked next in STYLE’s research – the first female K-pop star on the list. According to Mnet’s TMI News, Jessica owns a Maserati Quattroporte, an Italian supercar best known among car fanatics for its sleek design and impressive engine. It costs more than US$200,000.

While the choice of motor might surprise some fans, the fact that millionaire multi-hyphenate Jung can afford such a car surely won’t – as she is not just an active solo artist but also the owner of the fashion brand Blanc & Eclare and a New York Times bestselling author.

Yoona from Girls’ Generation owns a Porsche Cayenne Coupe

Surprisingly, Yoona from Girls’ Generation follows right after Jessica Jung on this list by owning a Porsche Cayenne Coupe supercar, the price of which is known to be somewhere between US$100,000 to US$160,000.

In an episode of TVN’s On & Off where Yoona showed off her daily life, viewers spotted her driving the Porsche – noting it was a considerable upgrade from her previous Volkswagen Scirocco.
