Isha Ambani’s dramatic style transformation: how Mukesh’s heiress daughter switched up jeans and tees for glam luxury fashion
STORYLynn Farah

- Isha grew up a ‘tomboy’ alongside her brothers Akash and Anant, and cousins Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul, and used to don T-shirts and jeans with no make-up
- Now she loves labels brands and Indian designers such as Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Manish Malhotra and Sandeep Khosla, and regularly graces fashion magazines
Isha Ambani has gone from plain Jane to a glam queen. Not only has she become a fashion icon that regularly graces fashion magazines, she learned to embrace her body type and reinvent her look.
This is how India’s most-envied heiress transformed her appearance over the years.
I love wearing Indian clothes ... I think it’s one of the greatest things about being Indian – our clothes!
The simple life

Before the Ambani family became an (often-controversial) national obsession in India, Isha Ambani was just another teen girl wearing simple outfits with no make-up. In early pictures with her family, she’s seen wearing jeans, T-shirts and no jewellery. No surprises here.
Her casual look could be attributed to her upbringing. “I was the only girl with four boys at home. It was Akash, Anant, Anmol, Anshul and me,” she told Vogue India, referring to her brothers and cousins, Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul. “I grew up very much a tomboy.”
The glam transformation

As the Ambani family grew richer and more famous – and Isha got older – the only daughter began to get her glam on. The billionaire heiress found herself setting trends when she started wearing designer outfits. She told Vogue India that she developed a penchant for designer clothes, including big names like Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Manish Malhotra and Sandeep Khosla.
