Before the Ambani family become a global phenomenon, at least 11 family members shared a 14-storey building in Cuffe Parade, Mumbai. Back then, the family was united and their fame had only just begun to spread.

Today, the younger of the two brothers, Anil Ambani, his wife Tina and their two children, Jai Anmol and Jai Anshul, remain in the family residence that has, over the years, seen war and peace, complaints from neighbours and legal battles. The entire Ambani clan lived together

Once upon a time, before Anil’s brother Mukesh Ambani built what has been called one of the most expensive residential properties in the world, Antilia, in Mumbai, he and his family – wife Nita and their children, Akash, Isha and Anant – shared the Cuffe Parade home with the rest of the Ambani clan. This included Anil and his family, and Mukesh and Anil’s parents, Dhirubhai and Kokilaben.

The history

BollywoodShaadis reports that each Ambani child had their own floor on which they had free reign. The building, known as Sea Wind, is in a swanky location in Mumbai, and was called “home” by Dhirubhai, patriarch of the family and founder of Reliance Industries, who is believed to have bought the property in the 1980s.

In a 2008 interview with DNA India, Mukesh and Nita’s dining room on the seventh floor was mentioned as being a mix of styles including traditional Indian and European influences. The decor included pieces from the couples’ overseas travels.
