Her dreamy wedding in Quito, Ecuador, earlier this month to Snapchat executive Juan David Borrero – who also happens to be the son of Ecuador’s vice-president – took the internet by storm, and from the photos it’s easy to see why.

We take a look back at the highlights of Jasmine Tookes’ career, and how her high-profile romance with Borrero unfolded.

Tookes met her future husband back in 2016 when the pair worked together on a Snapchat project. The social media app was getting ready to launch a new feature called Group Stories, and the company hired Tookes to help promote it, according to Vogue.

After publicly announcing their relationship, Tookes gave a glimpse of their cute dates, fancy holidays and day-to-day life together on Instagram, much to her fans’ delight.

Borrero’s glamorous proposal (he asked Tookes to marry him with a dazzling 7-carat Ritani diamond ring) only served to build the hype around their lavish nuptials, and the wedding ceremony that followed was indeed nothing less than a fairy tale.

On the big day, donning an exquisite Zuhair Murad wedding gown with a nearly 5-metre-long train, Tookes looked as beautiful as you’d expect. Inspired by Grace Kelly’s timeless dress, the Lebanese designer’s creation featured a high neck and long lace sleeves. It’s not an understatement to say that she looked like a real-life princess as she walked down the aisle in the flower-filled Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco cathedral.

Thanks to Ecuador improving its Covid-19 pandemic controls in recent months, the couple were able to be joined by several friends and VIPs from overseas, including fellow former Victoria’s Secret models Kelsey Merritt, Sara Sampaio, Shanina Shaik, Lais Ribeiro and Josephine Skriver.

In addition to her seemingly blissful romantic relationship, Tookes is also enjoying stellar success in her career right now. As the daughter of celebrity fashion stylist Cary Danielle Robinson, Tookes is no stranger to the fashion industry. In fact, she was discovered during one of her mother’s showroom appointments.

In 2015, Tookes was chosen to become a Victoria’s Secret model and, a year later, she became the third model of colour to wear the US$3 million Fantasy Bra at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret show.

As one of the highest-paid former Victoria’s Secret models, it’s probably no surprise that Tookes was able to sign attractive advertisement deals with Lancôme and Calvin Klein, to name a few, since hanging up her Angel wings. She’s also continued to model for high profile fashion magazines, and, according to Celebrity Net Worth, she is now worth an estimated US$5 million.
