It’s the news story that has India obsessed … and divided. Aryan Khan, the 23-year-old son of Bollywood’s biggest film star, Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested for alleged drug possession, and nobody can agree on whether he deserves jail.

Aryan’s father is known as the King of Bollywood and at 55 years old, Shah Rukh Khan is as legendary as it comes in India.
Over his decades-long career, Khan has starred in more than 100 films. He has more than 42 million followers on Twitter and nearly 27 million on Instagram. Khan owns the Kolkata Knight Riders, the Indian Premier League (IPL) team and is extremely wealthy, with an estimated net worth of US $700 million.

Shah Rukh Khan is married to Gauri Khan, a famous interior designer. Aryan was born in 1997 and has a younger sister named Suhana and a younger brother, Abram.
Aryan graduated from the University of Southern California in 2021, reports India Today. This May, a picture of Aryan – at his socially-distanced graduation ceremony at the university – went viral. Hindustan Times reports he received a bachelor of fine arts degree in cinematic arts, film and TV production, from the school of cinematic arts.
