According to Forbes, Mahindra is the third generation scion of the famous Mahindra family and controls the Mahindra & Mahindra conglomerate, which makes over US$19.4 billion in annual revenue. The business has stakes in 22 industries, but is best known for its tractors and sports utility cars. In April 2020, Mahindra became the non-executive chairman of the company.

According to Drivespark, Mahindra has a strong interest in blues music and helped spearhead the Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai in 2011. The publication also reports that the businessman is passionate about education and is behind the Nanhi Kali programme, a project that helps financially underprivileged girls complete 10 years of formal education.

As a member of a wealthy family, Mahindra grew up with luxury available all the time. But according to Hindustan Times, the businessman is known for his giving nature and has reached out to people who have touched his heart numerous times in order to reward them.
