She got emotional
In an interview with Vogue India, Isha said the tears came rolling down at her vidaai ceremony – her farewell party – after everyone around her got emotional. She said the whole wedding process was emotional, but during her vidaai, she also felt herself welling up, explaining that she felt some pressure when everyone was crying, especially her parents.
Nita took over the planning
Isha referred to the planning as a family affair, explaining that her parents did all of the hard work for the wedding. She also said she was lucky because they like the same things and she never felt alone in the process, explaining how she never went to a single wedding planning meeting by herself.
“I was never someone who dreamt of how my wedding would be, yet it was wonderful in more ways than I can imagine,” she told Vogue India.
The touching song
Legendary artist Lata Mangeshkar recorded a rendition of the Gayatri Mantra, a Ganesh stuti or prayer, for the couple. The recording was played during the wedding rituals and added a sense of tradition to the celebration, reports Bollywoodshaadis. Ahead of the recording, Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan explained the significance of the rendition to guests, according to The Economic Times.

Remembering their heritage
The wedding invitation was a tribute to the couple’s grandparents. Vogue India reports the floral-themed cards were decorated with a wreath of flowers and each bloom was chosen to represent qualities their grandparents embody. Once the card was opened, it played the Gayatri Mantra – a sacred chant in Hinduism.
