Meet William and Harry’s hot twin cousins, Amelia and Eliza Spencer – Princess Diana’s young nieces have left South Africa to start new lives as ‘It’ girls in London

Kitty Spencer has had the spotlight focused squarely on her after being named an ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana and marrying billionaire Michael Lewis in an extravagant wedding in Italy earlier this year. But now Kitty’s twin sisters, Amelia and Eliza, have moved to the UK hoping to achieve some of the fame and wealth that Kitty has experienced since she moved to London in 2016 in a “coming of age” moment. They made the move this summer.

The 29-year-old twin sisters have made their aspirations clear by walking the red carpet at celebrity events and doing interviews with high profile magazines. Blonde, beautiful and ambitious, here’s how Amelia and Eliza have wowed the world since their reinvention.

The big move

Earl Charles Spencer and Victoria Aitken moved to South Africa in 1995 to escape the spotlight. Amelia and Eliza were three at the time and grew up in the wealthy suburb of Constantia, Cape Town. The twin sisters have the titles of Lady Amelia and Lady Eliza, but said they never used those titles while living there, telling The Telegraph they had a “normal” childhood in Cape Town.

After their parents split in 1997, their father returned to the Spencer family home, Althorp, in Northamptonshire. The twins decided to relocate to London, explaining that they believe the city will “challenge and inspire” them. Three weeks after they moved to central London in June, they told Hello magazine they live 20 minutes away from each other.

Eliza said their older sister Kitty has always spoken about fancy London events and that they couldn’t wait to experience them first hand. Amelia told the Natural Diamond Council that even though London and South Africa are vastly different, because they spent many holidays in London for family holidays, the change was not that much of a shock. But the sisters also admitted that they are ready for a fresh start and welcome all the new experiences and opportunities that will come their way.

The twins have already made a splash on the social scene by attending the Venice Film Festival, the Miss Dior fragrance launch and other celebrity red carpet events. And they’re evidently using their twin power to leverage the attention – not like it’s a tough task. The sisters insist they share a close bond.

Amelia told the Natural Diamond Council that they always get the same thing for each other for their birthdays. On their 21st, the twins bought each other diamond stud earrings. Amelia added that although they have always been close, the move to London has made them closer than they have ever been.

Amelia and Eliza were just five years old when their aunt, Princess Diana, died in a car accident in France. Eliza told Hello magazine that she has some memories of her aunt, but would have loved to spend more time with her.

The twins recently had their family name – and Diana’s maiden surname – splashed around the world with the release of Pablo Larrain’s Spencer. The film, starring Kristen Stewart, has received critical acclaim and made the number one spot on Variety’s best films of 2021 list.

The future

Amelia and Eliza are seemingly following in the footsteps of their sister Kitty by signing with modelling agency Storm Model Management. But what of their other big plans now that they’re in the city of opportunity? Amelia told Hello that she wants to be a wedding planner while Eliza is hoping to be an interior designer.

Both girls are taken, with Amelia planning her wedding to her fiancé Greg Mallett while Eliza is happy with her boyfriend Channing Millard.

Amelia said that the new London adventure means that anything is possible and, although it has taken a while to get to the UK, London is their future.
