Donald Jr. reportedly proposed to the former White House adviser – who you may recognise from her meme-worthy speech – on New Year’s Eve 2020, but the couple kept it a secret

Many might recognise Donald Trump Jr.’s long-time partner Kimberly Guilfoyle after her loud speech at the 2020 Republican National Convention went viral, inspiring plenty of memes.

The Fox News host-turned-political-aide is reportedly now engaged to Donald Trump’s eldest son. Donald Jr. is said to have popped the question on New Year’s Eve 2020 and the couple, who started dating in 2018, have apparently kept their engagement a secret for a year now.

Though the couple has yet to confirm the news, Guilfoyle, who also served as an adviser to Donald Sr. during his presidency, could become a permanent member of the Trump family.

Before the former White House staffer began dating Donald Jr., she was married to Trump rival, Democrat and California Governor Gavin Newsom, and was reported to be dating former White House director of communications, Anthony Scaramucci.

“The new Kennedys”

Guilfoyle was married to California Governor Newsom from 2001 to 2006 when he was a city supervisor in San Francisco. During their marriage, Newsom was also elected Mayor of San Francisco. As the city’s first lady, Guilfoyle schmoozed with the likes of Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, welcoming the royal couple on their first official visit to the city during their US tour. The former power couple were even dubbed “the new Kennedys” by Harper’s Bazaar.

But Guilfoyle and Newsom ended their bicoastal marriage after three years. “Unfortunately, the demands of our respective careers have made it too difficult for us to continue as a married couple,” the pair said in a statement in 2005.

Their marriage was also plagued with an infidelity scandal, as Newsom was reportedly having an affair with Ruby Rippey-Tourk, the wife of his then-campaign manager and former deputy chief of staff, Alex Tourk, according to People.
