It’s no overstatement to call her family controversial
The 45-year-old socialite is the daughter of the late sixth Marquess of Bristol, Victor Hervey, and his third wife Yvonne Marie Sutton. The pair were once worth US$100 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, but her arms dealer father went bankrupt and was jailed after being convicted of jewellery theft. The family then went into tax exile in Monaco when Victoria was a toddler. He died when Victoria was eight years old.
Meanwhile, Victoria’s half-brother John Hervey, the seventh Marquess of Bristol, reportedly wasted his inheritance of about US$47 million on drugs and extravagant living before he lost the family seat, Ickworth House, to the National Trust. He died at 44 years old in 1999. Another of her half-brothers, Lord Nicholas Hervey, died by suicide in 1998 at age 36 after a battle with depression.
Not all of Victoria’s siblings are black sheep though. Her younger sister, Lady Isabella Hervey, 39, has competed on multiple reality TV shows and the pair remain close.
She has an estimated net worth of US$15 million
Her father died when she was just eight years old and her mother cut her off financially after she decided not to go to university, according to Hello! magazine. However, she got a job as a receptionist for film producer Michael Winner.
