Sit up and take notice, Hallyu fans – a new power couple has just tied the knot! South Korean actors Park Shin-hye, 31, and Choi Tae-joon, 30, got married in a private wedding in Seoul, on Saturday, with their family and celebrity friends in attendance.

Park – famous for roles in K-dramas from 2021’s Sisyphus: The Myth to 2003’s Stairway to Heaven – went all out for her nuptials, looking resplendent in not one, not two, but four elegant bridal gowns at her wedding and her pre-wedding photo shoot. She went for elegant looks inspired by nature with plenty of lace and floral patterns.

The dresses that she picked were by two top fashion designers – Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier. Legendary Dominican fashion designer de la Renta’s creations have been worn by former US first ladies like Nancy Reagan and Jacqueline Kennedy, and celebrities like Beyoncé and Scarlett Johansson. Korean actress Ko So-young also wore the brand when she married fellow actor Jang Dong-gun.

Filipino-American designer Monique Lhuillier, meanwhile, has dressed Britney Spears, Angelina Jolie and Reese Witherspoon at their weddings, as well as Taylor Swift in her Me! music video.

1. Oscar de la Renta’s “Look 6”

Park walked down the aisle in a dress with chic 3D floral embroidery details, even outshining the gorgeous flower decorations of her wedding venue.

The dress is “Look 6” from Oscar de la Renta’s spring 2022 bridal collection. Inspired by botanical designs focusing on pressed flowers rendered on dresses, the collection aims to fulfil the wedding fantasy of a lush garden ceremony, according to the brand’s Instagram.

According to Bridal Musings, the average price tag of a bridal gown from the brand is US$14,000 – but this one costs even more, about US$18,700, KoreaBoo reports.
