While still at art school, Yura decided to become a singer and set out to pursue this dream, she revealed according to Soompi. She posted photos and videos on Cyworld, a popular social media site in Korea at that time, looking for an agency to represent her.

She quickly became an ulzzang, a Korean term meaning “best face” that’s used to describe the sort of good-looking people scouted online by entertainment agencies.

She got offers from about 60 agencies, including Dream T Entertainment who helped her meet her goal of debuting before she graduated from high school, appearing with Girl’s Day in 2010, per K-pop Behind.

2. She has her legs insured for US$448,000

Fans don’t just appreciate Yura’s face though. Upon joining Dream T Entertainment, she was advised to take out insurance for her legs worth 500 million won (US$448,000 at the time).

“Yura’s legs are really long and don’t have a single wound. Because she’s a dancer, she signed up for insurance in case of an emergency,” the agency stated.

But she also highlights the role of knowing what suits. “Even though it’s something trendy, it could be a bad choice if it doesn’t fit you. It’s important to know what kind of style goes well with yourself when it comes to fashion,” she said.

She then had roles in multiple TV series – as a cute daughter in season three of the sitcom Reckless Family (2013); a bubbly, young girl in Be Arrogant (2014); a teacher in Hip Hop Teacher (2017); and an actress trying to gain fame at any cost in Radio Romance (2018).

Focused on bring a good actress, she is also interested in a character “completely opposite” of herself, especially a character in an action film or show. “Most of the roles that I’ve had for acting were celebrity roles, or someone who is bright and cool … I want to try characters that are more introverted and I also want to try action films someday,” she told #Legend.

While the other members of Girl’s Day are pursuing solo careers today, Yura misses the stage and her “girls’ days” so much that she dreams about them performing together again. “The funny thing is that I always make mistakes in those dreams because I don’t remember my choreography,” she told #Legend, “It’s so vivid that I message the other members right away, telling them about it. It feels like it was just yesterday that we were on stage together.”

She hopes they will appear together again when the time is right, she told KPop Herald. “We are looking for a good song. It’s about doing things absolutely right rather than being experimental. But it’s not easy to find a song that suits us well. When there is a nice track, we are always ready to be on stage,” she said.
