There’s no question that K-pop idols splurge on luxury items, and that luxury brands love idols right back . There have even been idols who are seen wearing one particular brand so much that fans – and sometimes even the brand themselves – have given them a “human luxury brand” tag. So who are the idols that embody luxury fashion houses? Here are 6 of them … 1. Blackpink’s Jennie: human Chanel The title of “human Chanel” could only go the face of the luxury house, Jennie. Having been a brand ambassador since 2018, she’s very often seen wearing Chanel items whether for her daily outfits or photoshoots, and she is a frequent face at their seasonal shows. At January’s spring/summer 2022 show in Paris , she wore a red tweed two-piece. She was also the face for the Chanel Coco Crush fine jewellery collection that launched in late 2021. In an interview with Elle Indonesia , she said that when she was younger, she used to go through her mother’s wardrobe and look for any vintage Chanel, marking the beginning of her fashion journey. 2. Blackpink’s Jisoo: human Dior Much like her bandmate Jennie, Jisoo has been nicknamed the “human Dior” after starting to work with the brand in 2019 and officially being named a global ambassador in 2021. The luxury fashion house themselves acknowledged that Jisoo “embodies the house’s modernity and the passionate creativity of Maria Grazia Chiuri”, referring to the brand’s creative director. The singer even inspired Dior’s autumn/winter 2021-22 collection. She attended the Dior womenswear spring/summer 2022 show in Paris, nabbing a seat next to Dior’s CEO, Pietro Beccari. She wore an embroidered white Dior dress, and – living up to the “human Dior” title – carried various Dior bags throughout her trip. 3. BTS’ V: human Gucci Though the BTS member is decked out in luxury fashion almost constantly, there was a time when his signature looks involved a large amount of Gucci in particular, earning him the nickname “human Gucci”. His stage and music video outfits – even what he wore to go to the airport – all incorporated bold Gucci items, leading to his title despite the fact that he has never been officially affiliated with the fashion brand. On several occasions, he was seen wearing head-to-toe Gucci: for BTS’s Dynamite music video, he was decked out in Gucci from his green two-piece suit and tie, all the way down to his loafers and button-up shirt. He was also in full Gucci for the group’s “Wings” album photoshoot, wearing a bold patterned suit, button-up and even choker. Similarly, his stage outfits often incorporate the brand’s eye-catching jackets and chokers. 5 Korean stars who love taking the metro, from G-Dragon to Park Bo-gum 4. Exo’s Kai: human Gucci Though given the same title, unlike V, Exo’s Kai was nicknamed “human Gucci” for his direct work with the fashion house as their global ambassador since 2020. Even the brand used the title when, in early 2021, they sent a coffee truck to support his first solo album, with each drink and snack coming with Gucci’s trademark red and green ribbon. He also launched a capsule collection with the brand, simply called Kai x Gucci, in 2021. Inspired by the singer, the pieces in the collection included ready-to-wear items, shoes and bags, all with the common motif of a teddy bear – a symbol Kai loves. 5. Ive’s Wonyoung: human Miu Miu Despite her young age, 17-year-old Wonyoung has already managed to earn the fashion title, “human Miu Miu”, having been the brand’s ambassador since 2021. With her various photoshoots, daily outfits of Miu Miu items, and her chic style, people are convinced she is the human embodiment of the brand. She also appeared in the film for its Maritime summer 2021 collection. 6 facts about Lee Yoo-mi, star of Netflix’s All of Us Are Dead 6. Girls’ Generation’s Yoona: human Miu Miu A Miu Miu ambassador like Wonyoung, Yoona’s connection with the brand and her frequent use of Miu Miu outfits and accessories has also earned her the nickname “human Miu Miu”. Though her style is also chic like that of the younger ambassador, the 31-year-old singer’s mature and elegant image also seem to make her a perfect fit for the brand. Having appeared in the brand’s autumn/winter 2021 collection film and other photoshoots, she’s become core to their marketing. Want more stories like this?
