Jai Anmol Ambani and Khrisha Shah are officially married! Days of pre-wedding celebrations were followed by extravagant nuptials at his parents Anil and Tina Ambani’s luxury home in Mumbai. The happy couple got hitched on February 20 and a week later mum Tina shared intimate images of the family celebrating their love. The groom is notoriously private and the images show a celebration rooted in prayer, tradition and a small celebration (well, small by Ambani standards ) to mark the next phase of his life as a husband. Here’s what you need to know about the big day that got the whole of India talking. The details Jai Anmol Ambani tied the knot with Khrisha Shah in Mumbai in February. The wedding took place at the Ambani family home, Sea Wind, located in the swanky Cuffe Parade area. According to Business Today India, the couple were introduced to each other by their families, but wanted to get to know each other before deciding on whether to get married. They got engaged in December last year in an intimate celebration with friends and family. According to Business Today India, Amitabh Bachchan and his family, including Abhishek and Shweta Bachchan, were there, as were Navya Naveli Nanda, Pinky Reddy and several members of the Ambani family – Nita, Mukesh and Isha Ambani. She is officially a saasu maa (mother-in-law) and said she was overjoyed that Khrisha had entered their home, bringing a new energy to the family. Jai Anmol is a director at Reliance Capital, the family business, while Khrisha is the CEO and co-founder of Dysco, a social networking website. The ceremonies After officially welcoming her new daughter-in-law to the family, Tina posted a number of images showing the different ceremonies the family took part in as part of the wedding celebrations. Images of the colourful and fun ceremony were posted by Tina and other guests. Tina also posted pictures from the haldi , another ceremony held before the wedding. It is a cleansing tradition where turmeric is used to cover the face. The mustard hue is believed to bring prosperity to the couple and represents a cleansing ahead of their life together. After the ceremony the couple are meant to stay inside until their wedding to prevent evil spirits. Pictures of Jai Anmol’s baraat , the groom’s wedding procession, were also shared on social media by the wedding photographers, Sam & Ekta. The groomsmen were wearing custom T-shirts with the slogan, “No sheep in my circle”. Another image showed Tina appearing to give a dance performance with her sisters at the baraat .
