Red carpet glamour returned at the 75th British Academy Film Awards, also known as BAFTAs, which resumed its in-person ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London after last year’s online presentation in compliance with Covid-19 social-distancing restrictions.

A-listers from Britain and across the globe celebrated the cinematic arts – and actors’ achievements – by attending this year’s glitzy ceremony in person. As one would expect, many dressed to impress with haute couture designs and opulent high jewellery pieces by some of the world’s most coveted brands.

Here is a round-up of some of the most captivating jewellery looks paraded on the BAFTA 2022 red carpet.

1. Caitriona Balfe

Former model and award-winning actress Caitriona Balfe showed off what was considered to be one of the best BAFTA 2022 red carpet looks. She appeared ultra poised in front of the cameras in an Armani Privé black velvet creation. The floor-length ensemble was paired with Van Cleef & Arpels’ diamond and coral earrings in a classic drop design.

Gaining international fame for her leading role in the TV series Outlander, Balfe was nominated for best supporting actress for her role as Ma in the film Belfast at the BAFTAs this year.

2. Lady Gaga

International pop sensation and award-winning actress Lady Gaga made her theatrical BAFTA 2022 red carpet moment with a classic old Hollywood look. Outfitted in a custom Ralph Lauren pleated green velvet gown, Gaga upped the drama of her plunging neckline with Tiffany & Co.’s high jewellery pieces, including a spectacular necklace with diamonds and emeralds paired with earrings of a matching design.

Lady Gaga’s look was brilliantly put together as she scored a BAFTA leading actress nomination for her portrayal of Patrizia Reggiani in the film House of Gucci.

3. Sienna Miller

American-British actress Sienna Miller sashayed down the red carpet in a Gucci slip gown.

She complemented the clean-cut evening gown with a Boucheron tassel lariat paired with matching earrings with pave-set diamond fringes.

4. Naomi Campbell

One of the original supermodels of the 1990s, Naomi Campbell has branched out during her illustrious career as a reality show host and social media influencer.

The global ambassador for The Queen’s Commonwealth Trust graced the red carpet in a Burberry black velvet gown and completed the look with a pair of stunning earrings with diamonds and emeralds and a bracelet of matching design from Geneva-based Fawaz Gruosi.

5. Zawe Ashton

British actress Zawe Ashton dressed pretty in pink and accessorised her outfit with Cartier jewellery, posing on the red carpet with her boyfriend Tom Hiddleston – a rare public appearance for the duo.

6. Lucy Boynton

British-American actress Lucy Boynton, who played Mary Austin in the 2018 box office hit Bohemian Rhapsody, wore a sequinned dress from Chanel’s spring 2022 haute couture collection. Her tasselled gemstone Boucheron earrings grabbed plenty of attention too.

Men can bring some sparkle to the red carpet too – and it’s not just limited to the bling of diamond watches. Award-winning American actor Kelvin Harrison junior wore his diamonds subtly. Shining on the lapel of his formal Burberry dinner jacket was a classic design by Tiffany & Co.

Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee played Peter Gordon in Power of the Dog and was dressed for the red carpet in a Louis Vuitton suit and iconic panthère-shape brooch and watch from Cartier.
