Where is the Bling Empire cast now – and what does Season 2 have in store? Kane Lim hung out with Rihanna, Christine Chiu took Kevin Kreider to Paris, and Anna Shay is back on Instagram
While we eagerly await series two, fans of Bling Empire may be wondering what the cast has been up to since we last saw them. The Netflix show exposed the over-the-top lives and personal drama of a group of wealthy Asian and Asian-American friends living in Los Angeles, and we got to see how the likes of Christine Chiu and Anna Shay spend big on last minute holidays, clothes and lavish parties.
Here’s what we can expect from the cast in the upcoming instalment, and what each of them have been up to since the pandemic began.
1. Christine Chiu
In an interview with E! News Online, Chiu mentioned that, so far, the second season of Bling Empire hasn’t been what she expected, describing it as the “upside down” version of the first. The first half was filmed during the height of the pandemic, she told E!, so unlike in series one, there hasn’t been much opportunity for impromptu jet-setting. She also admits that the cast members have a lot of beef with each other and that filming was “not always fun” this time around. Juicy!
2. Kane Lim
The Singaporean socialite also hung out with Rihanna at her Fenty Beauty event and took snaps with Katy Perry at her Las Vegas show. He’s even posted a few pictures with Filipino actress and socialite Heart Evangelista. Will some of them make it into a few scenes in the new series too? We can only hope …
3. Kevin Kreider
“I’m showing him Paris my way,” Chiu explained. “I’m taking him to some of the shows, dressing him, showing him the fittings process, and all things Paris, just taking it all in.”
The pair were still filming Bling Empire while there, and Chiu hinted to WWD at the time that she also had a surprise in store for Kreider, hinting mischievously: “Let’s just say there’s a lot more to France than just Paris.”
4. Anna Shay
It’s perhaps notable that she only became active on the platform again in January after a four-month hiatus – can we assume she’s returned for good to start hyping the new series?
What about the other Bling Empire stars?
MTV host and DJ Kim Lee is still showing off her toned physique and partying it up around the country. Chèrie Chan, on the other hand, has kept things low key despite walking a few red carpets (including one or two with her adorable daughter Jadore), but confirmed that her family won’t be returning for the second instalment.
Meanwhile, entrepreneur and producer Kelly Mi Li has been advocating a lot for women’s equality and self improvement online, particularly during this year’s International Women’s Day, as well as occasionally reuniting with Bling co-stars.
- Lim’s been schmoozing with Rihanna and Katy Perry, while Shay returned to social media after the reality TV show’s second series reveal, following a four-month hiatus
- Meanwhile, Kim Lee’s been DJing and Chiu playing tour guide for Kreider during couture week in Paris – but Chèrie Chan won’t return this time
