Robert Pattinson, 35, and Suki Waterhouse, 30, despite being among the biggest names in showbiz, have somehow managed to swerve much media attention on their nearly four-year on-off relationship. In fact, most people aren’t even aware that the duo are linked, as they’re rarely seen together in public – and it’s by no means a coincidence.
“If you let people in, it devalues what love is,” the Twilight alum told The Sunday Times in 2019. “If a stranger on the street asked you about your relationship, you’d think it extremely rude. If you put up a wall it ends up better.”
Their relationship rumours started in July 2018
The two lovebirds were first spotted together in London’s Notting Hill in July 2018, when they shared a kiss on their date night, after watching Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. Waterhouse, an English singer, model and actress, is no stranger to hunky Hollywood men, having previously dated Bradley Cooper for two years and reportedly going on a few dates with James Marsden – though she’s always kept her love interests on the down-low.
Meanwhile, Pattinson’s former relationship with his Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart wasn’t so secret – the media frenzy that surrounded them was one of the most widely publicised in showbiz at the time. The Harry Potter star was also engaged to singer-songwriter FKA Twigs before they split up and called off their wedding in 2017.
Following the apparent success of Pattinson and Waterhouse’s film date, US Weekly confirmed that they were dating by August 2018 and although there were rumours later that they had broken up, they were spotted again leaving a London nightclub together in October.
