Meet The Governesses’ star-studded cast: Lily-Rose Depp, Jung Ho-yeon and Renate Reinsve will headline A24’s latest film, based on the Anne Serre novel

- A24, the same entertainment company behind HBO’s Euphoria, Uncut Gems, Midsommar and Ex Machina, confirmed its Joe Talbot film will star showbiz’s hottest names
- The film is set to star Johnny Depp’s daughter and Chanel model Lily-Rose Depp, Squid Game’s Jung Ho-yeon and The Worst Person in the World’s Renate Reinsve
Based on a novel by Anne Serre, the story focuses on three young, subversive governesses. The trio are entrusted with educating a group of boys, but instead push the boundaries of the household they live in. They sidestep their duties, give in to their desires and fall into a dreamy world of sensuality and temptation.
The storyline – which has been described as campy, risqué and devilishly delightful in novel reviews – is not the only thing that has people talking. It’s also the film’s star-studded cast.
Here’s a primer on the The Governesses’ three headliners.
1. Lily-Rose Depp

Some may recognise Lily-Rose Depp as Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis’ daughter, but she has long stepped out of her parents’ shadow. At the age of 16, Depp appeared in her first Chanel campaign, fronting their pearl-encrusted eyewear collection. She then became the face of Chanel No 5 L’Eau, an updated take on the classic Chanel No. 5 fragrance.
