Over the years Bachchan has become something of a property mogul. According to GQ India he has five homes in India alone. His first bungalow in Mumbai was named Prateeksha and was where he lived with his parents for many years.
Times of India explains that his other bungalow, Janak, is where he bases himself for work purposes, and is said to consider the space his office. He also owns another bungalow called Vatsa (meaning calf) which is leased to Citibank India, and which provides yet another source of income for the family.
However it is the iconic Jalsa that is the most well known among his houses and the one which he lives in with his family. Gifted to him by director Ramesh Sippy for acting in his movie, Satte Pe Satta in 1982, the sprawling mansion is a tourist attraction for fans that want to catch a glimpse of the famous actor. Luxury cars galore
The megastar certainly doesn’t shy away from travelling in style. For starters Bachchan is known for cruising around in his Rolls-Royce Phantom.
According to GQ, the actor has several expensive cars to his name, including a Bentley Continental GT, a Lexus LX 470, a Porsche Cayman S and a Mercedes SL500.
A private jet
While many Bollywood stars are often seen in private jets, not many of them actually own them. Bachchan is the exception. GQ India reports the Bollywood actor often jets off with his family on private trips. His son, Abhishek, shared a glimpse of the interior a few years ago when Bachchan – or “Big B” as he is affectionately known – won an award.

That bull painting
Bachchan’s famous bull painting got India’s attention after it was spotted in the background of several family photos taken during Diwali. The painting is by Manjit Bawa, a renowned Indian artist who studied art in the UK. The artwork in Bachchan’s home is worth a reported US$500,000.

A collector of pens
According to News Bytes, Bachchan is a lover of literature and has an extensive collection of pens. His most expensive pen is reportedly the Mont Blanc Honoré de Balzac.
The limited edition pen was named after the well known 19th century French novelist and playwright – and can cost over US$1,000.
