In looking back at how dad did it, Donald and Maples exchanged vows at New York’s Plaza Hotel – which Donald owned at one time – and the bride wore a silk Carolina Herrera gown with sleeves plus a tiara estimated to be worth US$2 million, according to The Knot. Donald married his first wife Ivana in a secret ceremony in 1977 before they divorced in 1992 and she wed her fourth husband – the late Rossano Rubicondi – in 2008 at Donald’s Mar-a-Lago club. Tiffany’s wedding photos are sure to be spectacular. The second daughter of Donald is getting hitched at his famous Mar-a-Lago resort , which has boasted celebrity members of its private club as well as high-profile stars as guests. But not everyone has the option of getting married at Mar-a-Lago. To host a wedding at the property, you must be sponsored by a member. The Palm Beach, Florida club costs US$200,000 to join plus US$14,000 in annual fees. Wedding guests will gain access to “world-class amenities” including the “finest signature European indoor and terrace dining”, an oceanfront beach club and spa, six championship tennis courts and more. The venue is a short drive from Miami, where Boulos and Tiffany moved to after her dad’s one-term presidency was over. It also happens to now be the main home of Donald, Melania and Barron after their time in the White House. Before Donald met his third wife, he lived at Mar-a-Lago from 1985 to 1995. According to its website, Mar-a-Lago is the only place in the world to “attain the prestigious six-star Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences”. It adds, “The Trump Organization has invested millions of dollars in restoring and upgrading this ‘Jewel of Palm Beach’.” Its offerings include descriptions as the “most coveted entertaining space”, with its white and gold ballroom and the sumptuous Donald J. Trump grand ballroom which was built in 2005. What’s Mar-a-Lago’s background? “Mar-a-Lago” is Spanish for ocean to lake. The 114-room villa is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Worth and was built in 1927 for American businesswoman and socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post (then Mrs E.F. Hutton) who married four times in her lifetime. The property was willed to the federal government as a presidential retreat in 1973, but the government gave it up due to maintenance issues.
