Who is Stranger Things 4’s Joseph Quinn? Playing season newbie Eddie Munson, the 29-year-old British actor also appeared in Game of Thrones and hopes to star in Lord of the Rings

- The hit Netflix series introduced a new character, the goofy Eddie Munson, joining season 4’s cast with Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder and Finn Wolfhard
- To play the American rocker and Dungeons & Dragons nerd, Quinn lost weight and worked with a dialect coach – but he’s actually appeared in theatre productions for years too

But what about the actor who plays Munson – Joseph Quinn? Here’s what we know about the British breakout star so far …
He’s actually British and is 29 years old

Unlike his character Eddie, who is American, hailing from Indiana, and estimated to be between 19 and 21, Quinn is actually British and 29 years old. In a Men’s Health interview, he talked about having to lose a lot of weight “to roll back the years” and working with a dialect coach to be able to speak in a rather more American manner.
He’s been acting since he was a baby

Quinn has been active professionally since 2011, according to his IMDB. However, in a Nuit Magazine interview, he revealed he’s actually been acting “since he was a baby”. He recalled doing school plays in nursery and being a drama scholar at his school. Quinn then went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and graduated in 2015.
For him, the most rewarding part about being an actor is the community. He said in his interview that the people are “gorgeous, interesting, companionate and accepting – who wouldn’t want to work with that?”
