His net worth is an estimated US$94 billion dollars and in his most recent property expansion plan, Mukesh Ambani has dropped around US$80 million on a mansion in Dubai.

The deal on the 10-bedroom beachside villa has resulted in the mansion being called the “city’s biggest ever residential property deal” by multiple media outlets.

After much speculation, it was finally been reported that Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries was the mystery buyer of spectacular villa.

India’s NDTV reported that the covert deal had been going on for some time, with the Ambanis set to spend even more money customising security to ensure their safety. Parimal Nathwani, a long-time Reliance associate, will reportedly manage the villa.

Why was it bought for Anant?

So why is Anant the reported lucky recipient? It could be an engagement gift – Mukesh’s youngest is now engaged to Radhika Merchant. Or a promotion present? The 27-year-old was recently named head of Reliance’s new energy business.

Mukesh made the announcement at Reliance’s annual shareholders meeting at the end of August, where he laid out details of his succession plan. According to NDTV, the buyers asked to remain anonymous and the transaction was listed as “private”. In his speech to shareholders, Mukesh said Anant had approached his new role with “great zeal”, adding that his son was spending much of his time in India’s Jamnagar city where the company owns several oil refineries.

The beachside mansion is on the northern part of the iconic palm-shaped archipelago, and boasts enough facilities that the new inhabitants might never have to leave – including a private spa and indoor and both outdoor pools, according to Architectural Digest.

The home’s 33,000 square feet is sprawled over two storeys, complete with a bar, salon and wine seller. According to Mashable, the home also boasts Italian furnishings and several hand crafted masterpieces.

The stylish, minimalist exterior is pure white, with floor to ceiling windows that allow its residents to admire the views of the pool and beach beyond.

This latest purchase is just the latest addition to their impressive property portfolio. The Ambanis’ home base is Antilia, a 27-storey home in Mumbai where Mukesh and his children Anant and Akash live with their partners. The house has three helipads, parking for 168 cars, a 50-seater cinema and much more besides.

In April 2021, it was reported by Bloomberg that the Ambanis had bought the exclusive Stoke Park Estate in England for an estimated US$79 million. The property is set across 120 hectares (300 acres) and is the oldest country club in the UK.
The latest purchase by the Ambani family will also give Anant a chance to mingle with some of the world’s most prominent A-listers living nearby, including Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, who reportedly also owns property on Palm Jumeriah.
