Peek into Trevor Noah’s US$13 million Manhattan penthouse: The Daily Show host just listed his swanky Art Deco duplex that boasts a heated plunge pool, home theatre and sweeping views of New York
One of the world’s most eligible bachelors has just listed his Manhattan penthouse. A flat as attractive as the homeowner, Trevor Noah, was just listed at US$12.95 million.
With unobstructed views of the city and the Hudson River in the New York Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood, the three-bedroom, 3,600 sq ft duplex flat has been carefully updated since Noah bought it in 2017, while retaining the historic ambience of the Art Deco-era New York Telephone Building.
Originally designed in the 1920s by Ralph Thomas Walker, who was recognised in 1957 by The New York Times as the “Architect of the Century”, the building was converted to flats in 2014 by architectural firm CetraRuddy, with design work done by Jarvis Studio and consequently renamed Stella Tower (named after Mr. Walker’s late wife).
The building has one of the city’s most breathtaking lobbies and is located near many of the city’s most important addresses, including Central Park, the Lincoln Center and Hudson Yards.
Located on both the 17th and 18th floors, Noah’s flat includes a floating staircase and floor-to-ceiling windows.
Unique features for the home include a home theatre, large dining area, French oak flooring, black-granite wet bar, marble fireplace, custom built-ins, suede leather upholstery, dramatic archways, stylish lighting, chef’s kitchen with two dishwashers, and a 1,000 sq ft terrace with a heated plunge pool and built-in speakers.
Big southern views are unobstructed by neighbouring buildings and allow all-day sun to flow throughout the apartment’s handsome windows and tall ceilings.
The flat walls have been perfectly finished with various textures and accents, including hand-rubbed Cortina leather in the primary bedroom, a black Fior di Bosco marble powder room with hand-applied Callidus Guild plaster walls, and wool Holland & Sherry upholstered walls in the theatre room.
The kitchen is elegant and functional with top-of-the-line appliances, polished marble slab countertops, an entire wall setup as the tasteful bar area, and an adjoining pantry. The French oak flooring flows majestically throughout the space providing a perfect canvas for the entire penthouse.
Noah recently announced that he would be leaving The Daily Show at the end of 2022.
