Mehta married Akash Ambani in March 2019 and has been in the spotlight ever since. Akash is heir to the US$96 billion Ambani fortune, along with his twin sister Isha and brother Anant.

Mehta is not one to shy away from bright colours. In this twist on a traditional trend, she wore a canary yellow gota tukdi ghagra. Vogue India explains that gota is simply gold and silver lace from the city of Lucknow. The lace is made from metal-coated yarn and includes ribbons of fibres like cotton and polyester. The blouse is fuchsia pink, outlined in gold and yellow for a pop of colour. She braided her hair, creating a soft look in contrast to her bold make-up.
