The hit Netflix show takes viewers inside the lives of a group of ultra-rich Asians living in the Big Apple. Dorothy Wang (remember her from Rich Kids of Beverly Hills?), Tina Leung, Lynn Ban and Deborah Hung are just some of the uber-wealthy flaunting their outlandish lifestyles on the streaming service for all the world to see.

Born into wealth
On the show, Laks is introduced as an heiress who comes from a “powerful” family in Thailand. My Imperfect Life reports she is the daughter of Thai businessman Nakorn Laksanakarn. He was reportedly previously the CEO of Bangkok-based Natural Park PCL (NPark). He is also a real estate developer behind hotels, estates and hospitals, reports the site.
The family reportedly boasts a net worth of more than US$400 million, according to multiple sources. Nam is the youngest of three children. She has two older brothers – Nick and Nino. On the show she admits she is a “daddy’s girl” and the family are very close.

A studious background
The Cinemaholic reports that Laks attended the Harrow International School, Woldingham School and the International School Bangkok. She also holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Manchester, and later enrolled in a master’s at Columbia University’s Spirituality Mind Body Institute in New York. On the show, she said it was her father who wanted a higher education degree from her and that’s when she headed to NYC.
Luxury living
Laks also stays at a swanky New York hotel. Her suite is lavish and she has housekeeping on standby if she needs anything.
Laks has a driver, hardly opens her own car door and doesn’t know how to work a gas kettle. It is these moments on the show that have made her a fan favourite.
